The Weather Systems Over The Country

Conditions are favorable for further advancement of southwest monsoon into some parts of Telangana, Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar, along with some parts of Chhattisgarh during the next 4 to 5 days.

The seasonal trough is extending from Punjab to Bihar across Haryana and Uttar Pradesh at mean sea level.

The western disturbance is seen as a trough in middle tropospheric westerly winds, with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level, running roughly along longitude 72°E and north of latitude 32°N.

A cyclonic circulation is present over Haryana, while another cyclonic circulation is lying over East Uttar Pradesh at 1.5 km above mean sea level.

A trough is extending from the cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh to the south coast of Andhra Pradesh across East Madhya Pradesh, East Vidarbha and Telangana at 0.9 km above mean sea level.

A cyclonic circulation is also lying over South Madhya Maharashtra and adjoining areas at 5.8 km above mean sea level.

A fresh western disturbance is likely to approach Northwest India from June 18 onward.

During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells occurred over Kerala and Odisha.

Light to moderate rain occurred over Northeast India, West Bengal, Odisha, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, parts of Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.

Isolated light rain occurred over Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat, Konkan & Goa, Uttar Pradesh and Coastal Karnataka.

Forecast

During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may occur over Kerala and Northeast India.

Light to moderate rain may occur over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, the Western Himalayas, Rajasthan, Delhi, parts of West Bengal, South Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.

Light rain is possible over Gujarat, Vidarbha, Uttar Pradesh and Konkan & Goa.
