The weather system over the country:

The well-marked low-pressure area (remnant of Cyclone Montha) over central Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas has moved in a north-northwest direction and, as of October 31 at 05:30 hours, is over north Chhattisgarh. It is expected to move into north Bihar across east Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand and weaken into a low-pressure area by tomorrow.

The depression over the east-central Arabian Sea is moving in a north-northeast direction. It is expected to weaken after 24 hours over the Arabian Sea.

A cyclonic circulation over the Gulf of Thailand extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level.

During the last 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain occurred over Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Nepal, and parts of Bihar.

Light to moderate rain with a few heavy spells occurred over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Madhya Pradesh, and southwest Uttar Pradesh.

Light to moderate rain occurred over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, coastal Karnataka, parts of Kerala, and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Light rain occurred over northeast India, east Rajasthan, the Kutch region of Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Lakshadweep.

Forecast for the next 24 hours:

During the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rain may occur over Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Nepal, east Jharkhand, and Bihar.

Light to moderate rain with a few heavy spells may occur over Gujarat, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, east Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, north Madhya Maharashtra, and Konkan and Goa.

Light rain may occur over northeast India, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kutch.
